The handrail system, stringers, and stunning walnut treads and risers were manufactured with the same level of precision applied by fine furniture artists. In the end, this stately home has a stunning custom curved staircase that exceeded the clients’ expectations.

It serves as the centerpiece of this old-world luxury townhome, blending seamlessly with the residence's opulent millwork and architectural details. 15_Sophisticaded Staircase w/American Cherry + Wrought Iron Balustrade, 20854

This freestanding staircase features a curved floating platform integrated into the main run. Built entirely from American Cherry, the main structure features matching treads, risers, and a stained stringer that curves down to the floor in a traditional volute detail. The railing system combines smooth-flowing 6710 profile American Cherry handrail with individual wrought iron balusters, providing an elegant contrast to the warm wood tones.

13_Curved Custom Wrought Iron Staircase in Elegant Home, Fairfax VA 22032

Working closely with the builder, we were able to achieve their vision of the stairway being the interior architectural focal point of the home. The treads and risers were carefully matched for grain and color. The handrail was carefully created with for a clean sweep that draws the eye upward. The wrought iron balusters bring an Old World feel to the design. Together, these elements create a stunning staircase.
