Project #143 | Floating Red Oak Staircase

Red oak and steel don't always find common ground, but here they do. Supported by a Seattle-style stringer from the Prestige Metal line, solid red oak treads rise as if floating, the open risers deepening that effect. Red oak chamfer-top posts and handrail frame a matte black horizontal railing. The whole design is a balance between the two: the posts and handrail echo the warmth of the treads, while the horizontal bars emphasize the industrial feel of the exposed stringers.
