Project #160 | Traditional Box Stair with Gooseneck Handrail

Natural light from the landing windows falls across white oak treads on this traditional box stair. Painted white risers and cove molding under each standard nosing give every step a finished profile. White candlestick balusters are framed by a satin black handrail and turned newels. Gooseneck fittings lift the rail over each landing newel, so the run steps up cleanly at every turn. The black rail continues as a wall-mounted handrail on the lower flight, giving each level the same detail.
