56_Elegant Wall-Mounted Craftsman Style Staircase, Arlington VA 22205

"The staircase remains an iconic expression of the technological and artistic innovation of modern times." [Dethier, Jean. (2013). Staircases/The Architecture of Ascent. New York: The Vendome Press.] A discerning client selected us to design and build this strong staircase; a magnificent visual point for the main entrance in this recently built residence. The structure features square white-painted newel posts, custom-turned wooden balusters (painted white), red oak treads, a beautifully finished walnut handrail system, and ceiling-to-floor wainscoting complementing beautifully the detailed decorative architectural trims in adjacent spaces. 48_Contemporary Round Stainless Steel Balustrade & Oak Treads, Arlington VA 2220

A remarkable Architect/Builder selected us to help design, build and install his geometric/contemporary four-level staircase; definitively not a “cookie-cutter” stair design, capable to blend/accompany very well the geometric forms of the custom millwork found throughout the home, and the spectacular chef’s kitchen/adjoining light filled family room.  Since the architect’s goal was to allow plenty of natural light in at all times (staircase is located next to wall of windows), the stairs feature solid 2” oak treads with 4” nose extensions, absence of risers, and beautifully finished poplar stringers. 55_Logan Circle’s Sculptural Staircase, Washington DC 20005

We were selected by one of the best mid-Atlantic Condominium Developers to help design, build and install a high quality and one of a kind staircase with a solid mono-beam, 4” solid red oak treads (1/8” corners’ radius), spacious landing area, no risers and a horizontal stainless steel balustrade system that flows beautifully from the living area to the upper level loft and balcony. This staircase’s craftsmanship blends seamlessly with the interior architectural finishes selected by the design team, and fulfill their goal to allow natural light to travel throughout all living spaces. 43_Powerful Impression by Floating Staircase, Mclean VA 22101

We collaborated with a well-respected builder in the Washington metropolitan area and came up with this sun drenched elegant custom staircase. The white wooden newel post at the end of the right hand side balustrade (going up to second level) combined with the ebonized handrails create a sharp contrast with the Brazilian cherry walnut treads, hardwood flooring and white balusters. The floating staircase occupies a prominent place in all levels; an open living space concept was maintained in the basement, main level and second floor and this nice structure is definitely a stylish focal point. This elegant elliptical staircase harmonizes beautifully with the home's eclectic architectural style, which blends Georgian, Gothic, Federalist, and Victorian Vernacular elements. Project #27 | Elliptical Staircase with Historic Elegance

31_Mahogany & Forged Metal Staircase, Arlington VA 22207

Our design and manufacturing team managed to make a showcase of this solid and beautiful staircase with flowing mahogany handrails, furniture grade treads, risers and stringers, and a forged metal balustrade design selected by a highly regarded custom design/build firm in Arlington (known for their finest level of design and craftsmanship in many residential projects). This magnificent stair piece travels parallel to an elevator from the uppermost level terraces, in this 8,000 sq. ft. home, to the main level highlighting the best aspects of its surroundings. 36_Exquisite Custom Flowing-Staircase in Phenomenal Home, Haymarket VA 20169

Thoughtful planning went into every detail for this magnificent wooden staircase; all oak treads, risers and stringers were cut to the exact construction specifications provided by builder/owners. 14_Entryway Transformation – Spiral Freestanding Staircase, Gainesville VA 20155

This Washington DC home transformed its entryway into a great hall with a freestanding circular staircase. The curved treads feature matching decorative trim brackets and cove molding, each element precisely curved to match the spiral's radius. The project delivered a dramatic architectural upgrade while staying within the homeowners' budget.

60_Contemporary Oak Staircase with Frame-less Glass Balustrade, Arlington, VA 22

A glass balustrade was selected for the straight flight to allow light to flow freely into the living area and to create an uncluttered space (defined by the clean lines of the grooved top hand rail and wide bottom stringer). The invisible barrier works beautifully with the 2" squared-off oak treads, matching oak risers and strong-routed poplar stringers;  it definitively improves the modern feel of the home.
